Janie Green

Janie Green is an art historian and curator with deep roots in community service. She currently serves as a trustee of the Jay DeFeo Foundation and was previously a longtime member of the board of trustees of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive at the University of California, Berkeley. Over her career, Janie has helped launch startups, led and advised nonprofit boards, and raised funds for organizations she believes in—experience she brings to Campus Ready with energy and care.

Janie’s commitment to the Campus Ready mission is personal. As a first-generation professional who helped pay her way through college with scholarships and work-study—and as a parent of three who’ve navigated the college journey—she understands how much non-tuition support can matter. She’s drawn to Campus Ready’s direct, practical impact and the chance to work alongside a team whose intellect, enthusiasm, and heart match the urgency of the need.

Beyond her professional life, Janie finds joy in the arts, reading, travel, gardening and flowers, research projects, and gathering friends and family. She lives by a simple philosophy: the politics of abundance—the glass is half-full, and it’s meant to be shared.
